Have received '02 R&I booklet. 1051 cultivar was registered from over the
world - more than in '01 (964) and '00 (902). 53% of them are TBs (57.5 and
58.2 in previous two years). 788 varieties were introduced during the year.
Irisarians whos varieties were registered were from 17 countries. It's
interesting if there are iris hybridizers in some other countries, say,
Spain, Hungary, Greece, Slovenia, Argentina, China, Turkey and many others.
Maybe somebody could let us know about it.
Glad to know the iris world will have ninth associate registrar - Hiroshi
Shimizu. We'll probably have much more information about iris varieties from
Japan then.
