Each concrete sdlg. number is an "invention" of concrete hybridizer. Of
course the same sdlg. can be used in different crosses (pedigrees) both by
its auther himself (herself) and by another hybridizer too if the first one
e. g. gives the latter the plant or its pollen. If hybridizer in his (her)
cross uses some sdlg. of another hybridizer it is usually indicated when
(if) the first person wants to register one (or some) of the cross results .
Theoretically, it's possible when two persons register their cultivars which
have the same sdlg. number but, I think, it's unlikely. (Keith Keppel
obviously knows if it's officially allowed and if there were such a cases
before).
