Re: )T - Humor :dwarfs

You know, I think you are right, in that I should not have said "set the record straight".

I should have said "clarify the list policies", and it is my perspective that governs the policies of the list. Someone has to. I try to manage it in a way that is best for the majority of subscribers, within a certain set of boundaries (e.g., flames will never be tolerated even if everyone wanted them). I will never satisfy everyone because we are a wide ranging set of personalities. To some, I am overbearing, to others, too slack.

We are, mostly a community of friends. As a result of this list, I have what I consider to be friends from all over the world. I seems like a lot of others have developed similar kinds of relationships. I try to do what I think is best for everyone. I really try to keep my hands off, and generally can. But there are moments that I have to step in.

Want someone else want to take over? Let me know. If that is what everyone wants, I will gladly step down.

No offense taken.

No offense, John, but just because you are the list owner doesn't mean that your perspective "sets the record straight". You have your opinion and the ability to silence others, but that doesn't necessarily make yours right. I don't mean to anger you and provoke you into silencing me, but from some beholders' eyes, you can be a bit overbearing. It's just a difference in personalities. We all need to be willing to tolerate differences in others.
