Hi Gary,

How interesting that you took the time to make a record.  According to the
Judges Handbook, ideally an Iris should double each year.  Hooker Nichols
was very firm about that in a class he taught.

They all don't do that.  I personally think a lot depends on the conditions
of the year, water or rain, grasshoppers and borers, and soil conditions,
well drained or not and the quality of the soil.

Last year my well pump had a problem and by the time it was fixed many of my
Iris had suffer some harm due to the dryness of the year.  I did not see the
amount of increases in established clumps that I had seen the previous year,
with all other elements similar.

What do you think?
