private: QUITE QUAINT


Went and checked out the photo on Willowbend.  That was my source for QQ.
It doesn't quite tell you the effect of this iris.  It's a blue white, but
just barely.  In the photo the beards look orange.  For me, they are a
distinct mustard, actually having hairs of several colors to give the
effect.  The color of the beard is odd for the color of the bloom and that
is one thing that gives it distinction.  The other noticeable feature is a
large, square bloom.  They really are big and wide.  Also in the photo it
looks as if that bloom might have a tendency to horizontal falls and it
doesn't here.  For me it's been a good grower with a distinct tendency to
have stalks that get up into the TB height range.  I've thought all that
width and not having too many curly cues would make it a good candidate for
using AB pollen, but haven't had any takes.  Don't think I've tried it with
another TB.
