Hi Folks,
I too use a Nikon CoolPix 995. It has so many features that others can't match. One thing I would like to recommend for working with the images on your computer is the program PAINT SHOP PRO from Jasc. This program has many of the features found in programs like Photo Shop but the price is much more reasonable. You can even download several effects filters from various sites on the internet.

Yeah Neil! I never had a camera I choose before my Nikon Coolpix 995. Mine
always were someone else's throw away or from a rummage sale. So I have
really enjoyed this one. I take tons of pictures just for the fun of it.
And at this time of year I play on the computer with the pictures. It is
fun and you learn every time you play with the pictures.

The Nikon CoolPix 5000 my daughters gave me is so far over my head itmakes medizzy. I have to re-read the pertinant sections of the book every time Igoto use it. The software that came with it was just that much more stufftoput on the computer.with
To edit, I've found it easier to use the Microsoft Photo Editor that cameMS Office for most of what I do. A few things are easier done on Corelgotten
Graphics. If I need to crop it is far easier on the Corel program, for
example.
The software bundled with the camera does all sorts of things I haven'taround to trying and for which I haven't figured out why I need. I'mstillworking on the basics of just getting the camera to do what I want.have to
I was so used to an SLR that the camera was second nature and I didn'tthink about how--I just did. The design of the CoolPix still just feelsget
foreign and is hard work. I'm sure as I continue my recovery things willeasier and -- I hope! -- with a better iris year coming up there will be
plenty of subject matter on which to practice.
