Re: CULT:Grasshoppers

I don't, but I probably will now thanks to these posts. 'Hoppers have been
on my mind all winter due to my finding live grasshoppers all winter. They
don't appear to be actively eating things, but they have been very much
alive and I have found them on days where the previous nights' temperature
dropped below 20F. I have not seen live grasshoppers before during the
winter months and I don't know what it may portend but I'm afraid I'm not
going to like what does portend.

I wonder if wetting the foliage first would make it more effective.
Otherwise I wonder how much of the flour is going to stick to the iris fans.
I admit I'm pretty skeptical on this, but I'll try most anything.

There was about 1/2 inch of snow covering everything that arrived during the
nighttime hours. The first one this winter. It's pretty much already gone.
What I seem to be having a problem with at the moment is leaf spot.
Something else I haven't noticed being much of a problem during winter
before. It wasn't bad last year, but everytime the plants show new growth
it turns up with leaf spot in a couple of days. I think I'll drag out the
spray this afternoon and see if I can get it under control before real
spring growth starts in a week or two.
