Seems to me that if it isn't a good garden plant... that any ol average joe
might want in their garden...

well, why wouldn't he just offer a seedling trade of some kind with
hybridizers?  Why go to the expense of introducing it, advertizing it?
Obviously this forum is capable of reaching a wide range of hybridizers
without much expense....
