OT-BIO: Patricia Littlefield

Hello,
 
I am a new subscriber to Iris-Talk.  My name is Patricia Littlefield, I am 57 years old, and I have had a lifelong interest in gardening.
 
My husband and I built a new home on a 13 tract four years ago and moved our garden from the city to the country.  We grow iris, daylilies, hostas, roses and have a small collection of bonsai trees.  We also have a few Charolais cattle, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and a Himalayan cat.  
 
Our iris collection at present is 200+ varieties and growing.  Last fall my husband made some new beds so we will have room for new additions this year.  In 2003 we made our first iris crosses and have seedlings growing in the basement under lights.  Our main interest is Tall Bearded, but we also have some IB and SDB.  We love the newest irises, but I also have an interest in some of the older ones that I remember from my childhood in my grandmother's garden.
 
I recently bought a digital camera and I'm looking forward to taking pictures of our flowers this year.  I love to write about plants and look forward to making new friends thru Iris-Talk.
