Bernice Miller used to write in the Recorder about putting powdered milk
under each rhizome as she planted. Once she moved to Alabama, my understanding
was that she had no water source where she planted her irises. (Not that I
think that had anything to do with her using the powdered milk!)
Wish I could recall how much she used!
