forgive me if this seems to be a disconnected thought, but it occured to me
while I was away from the computer.
I have not been following this line of discussion, just not interested in
the depth of the thread, so if you've already broached this point, never
mind,
if the calcium levels can affect the color of the water in a pond, wouldn't
it make sense that ca levels could also affect the quality/depth of color
among the water soluble pigments when expressed in an iris bloom? and if
that were true then that could account for the disparity of color from one
garden to the next in cvs like oh, say, everybody's favorite, THORNBIRD.
Just a thought, not feeling scientific enough to chase it myself....
