RE: Iris Fairies - & Perils of designing/interpreting surveys!

I have met people who only grow to show and also
those that wont cut for a show because they loose
those blooms from the garden. It takes all types to
make a society. But the most important purpose of an
Iris show is to interest and inform the public. A
non-competitive part of shows are exhibits. Youth can
often do these and be given a rosette ribbon for their
effort. In exhibits, Irises can be shown in pots and
returned to the garden. It is a great way to show off
Junos, clumps of miniature dwarfs, and other small
Irises. It definitely adds some dimension to Iris
shows. The number of exhibits at a show probably
indicates whether the club is truly trying to inform
the public or mainly interested in competing.
