Just curious.? What is a regional trek and where does the guest irises come from?
Scarlet, many AIS Regions have an annual Spring Meeting/Tour/Trek. They contact hybridizers requesting Guest Irises (just as AIS Convention Hosts do) for planting (2-3 years ahead of time in the Guest Host Gardens. This gives garden visitors an opportunity to see the "newest and latest" irises, vote on their favorites at the Meeting/Tour/Trek, photograph them and decide what irises they need to order that they just can't live without!
