Post your pedigree.

It sounds as if you have some sort of inbreeding depression. But need to see pedigree to assess that.

I have been reading all these scientific hybridizing messages and find them challenging. I know many people do sibling crosses successfully. My big
question is why do mine all either fail to germinate or die before they
reach bloom size. I have tried several times and had never had one from a sibling cross bloom. I have no trouble getting very vigorous seedlings from
unrelated crosses.

Is the 'usual' approach to any kind of breeding program a lot of line
breeding, followed by outcrosses between inbred lines?

Certainly not what I've been doing. And wasn't planning to.

Closest I'm coming is some backcrosses, parent X F1.
