Linda, do you see a lot of immature seeds in the pod?

The one sibling X sibling cross that I made had typical germination, just lots of expression of the worst leaf spot susceptibility that I've seen in seedlings from both grandparents. (Doctor Alan x Renown) X sib.If it's not inbreeding suppression, my bet is that something similar is happening with your sib crosses. The grandparents may have been carrying a lot of genes unsuited to your growing conditions that came out in force in the sib cross.Have you tried any sib crosses from grandparents that do really well for you and produce mostly strong seedlings?I don't have data, but it also seems like I get very poor germination from seeds that 'carry' a lot of unadapted traits for thriving here.I also get poor germination from IMM, but suspect that is partly because her seeds seem to need much longer chilling than most (a minimum of 3 months at optimal temperature, up to 5 months, plus she just has trouble setting many seeds/pod in my growing conditions, which tells me she is stressed here during pod maturation.
