I would consider this progress a great success.  Remember you are in the
communications Starship Enterprize, exploring an unknown universe.  In
generations to come they will say:  "Oh, to have been on those first voyages
with that brave and happy crew who took irises into the net."  Or something
like that.  A slap on the back and bouquet of rose (strike that) irises to
