Do not judge an iris by the size of the rhizome...in fact, the fatter the
rhizome the more you should worry....about rot.  There is a lot of water in a
fat rhizome, and I never plant these until I have let them dry out for a
month.  I would always prefer medium to smaller rhizomes!  Clarence Mahan
