Charlie, you did not tell us where you garden. Iris pseudacorus (yellow flag) will thrive in water conditions everywhere. Iris laevigata also is a good water iris. If your area is not too cold in winter, the Hexagonae species and modern hybrid Louisiana iris cultivars are wonderful for the edge of a pond or in swampy conditions. Clarence Mahan
