Dennis, Midway through summer, I find nut grass and other weeds are excellent
companion plants for irises. When the weeds grow faster than I can keep them
controlled, I conclude weeds are lovely and relax. (Hope you will excuse my
little attempt at humor). On a more serious plane, I have planted daffodils
between TBs in one bed, and it is nice to have the early bloom. The TB
foliage then hides the daffodil foliage when it deteriorates. Clarence Mahan
