I used to be a skeptic about this too, now I'm simply confused. I've heard
this same discussion numerous times among orchid people, many of whom believe
that which parent is which does make a difference (well beyond the obvious
mechanical issues in some crosses), and within the last year or two I've
seen a preliminary report seeming to suggest that even in humans it may
make a differance for some traits from which parent they're inheirited.
I'd also appreciate any good references on this topic anyone has.
