Fellow iris lovers,
My name is Rodney Barton. I live in North Central Texas not far from=20
Dallas. I=D5ve been growing irises for many years, but went totally=20
berserk about five years ago. I=D5m a member of AIS and the species,=20
Louisiana, and Pacific Coast iris sections not to mention the Fort Worth=20
Iris Society. I grow many different types of iris but my main interest=20
is in beardless, species iris. My favorite iris is I. fulva of which I=20
have five forms. A close second is a white spuria that I think is I.=20
orientalis (syn. ochroleuca). =20
I=D5ve been trying to grow Pacific Coast iris and am having modest success=
=20
starting from seed. I hope get my first blooms this year. I also put in=
=20
my first Standard Dwarf Bearded and reblooming varieties this fall. =20
My reticulatas, I. reticulata and I. danfordiae (commonly sold as =D2dwarf=
=D3=20
iris) are blooming!
I have some PCNI seeds, from the SPCNI seed exchange, which I will be=20
happy to share, as long as they last. Please respond to me privately=20
(i.e. Don=D5t reply to the list, =D4tis rude and unnecessarily clogs mailbo=
xes).
I=D5m presently looking for sources for I. ungulicarius and the typical=20
yellow form of I. halophilia. Any clues?
Later!
