Linda,
Yes DNA in the mitochondria, chloroplasts, and probably a few other 
places I'm not thinking of right now are inherited  more maternally 
than paternally. The sperm of plants has very little extra-nuclear 
effect, but and extra-nuclear maternal effect is very measurable.
