Re: evergreen iris

With your climate, you might want to try Iris unquicularis (sometimes
called by its older name, Iris stylosa), which actually blooms through
the winter. The foliage is evergreen and narrow. Van Bourgondien sells
the plants, although the divisions are so small they may require
pampering to make them live. They are not difficult to start from seeds.
SIGNA and BIS regularly have the seeds in their seed exchange.

Louisiana irises are more evergreen than the Siberians, but not very
attractive during the winter.
