Yes and no. If you just stick them there and let them fend for themselves,
they will probably not survive. If you're willing to dig in lots of peat
moss and other organic matter and water them well during the summer, they
will probably be OK. There are a number of people who grow Louisianas
successfully in the desert southwest, although it requires more work than
growing bearded irises in that climate.
