Iris danfordiae

The note about the bulbil production of this iris made me wonder whether 
this is characteristic of this plant in the wild.  Many of the commercial 
bulbs are clones that increase quickly vegetatively, I read somewhere, even 
though most of the wild plants increase much more slowly. Has anyone 
tried growing Iris danfordiae from wild-collected seed?
