lime against slugs

I have to make a correction on the mail I sent, there I said
that lime is good against slugs. Maybe it depends on you use
slaked lime or burned lime. In either case maybe the flovers 
can be burned aswell.
The lime method is not going to work if it is those large
slugs with shells, (the one that you can eat) we have lots and
lots of them.
They need the lime to build up the shell: after I used
Lime coulor for shading my greenhouse, it was invaded by those 
slugs (on the outside), eating up the lime.
