Both spurias and louisianas can host iris rust (Puccinia iridis), quite a
different fungus from the usual leaf spot on bearded irises. Iris rust
looks something like leaf spot but the spots are of a reddish tinge. This
bugger is related to wheat and barley rusts, big pests in grain growing
areas. The usual fungicides seem to handle it, though.
