Sounds like our winters here in Zone 7 Central, Virginia, in what some folks
frustrated by their colder climes--my sister in Chicago for one-- tend to
think is horticultural heaven.
I've got heaving, dead rhizomes, burnt foliage and all the usual delights.
Temperatures are predicted to break 70 the next two days with lows back in
the mid-twenties by Thursday.
I'm going to do the "chop up the Christmas trees found in the alley and put
them on the irises" bit today. It gives one the feeling of not taking it all
lying down.
