Sandy and Dorothy,
The weather here turned wintry about a month ago, and though it has not
been exceptionally cold nor has the snow been particularly heavy, it has
stayed that way ever since. There was a light snowfall overnight and the
high temperature today was about 30 degrees. Crossing fingers that it will
more or less stay this way for the next six to eight weeks. We definitely
do not need a repeat of last winter's weather when repeated freeze-thaw
cycles caused the worst heaving ever seen here - I lost a third of my
Siberian seedlings that were completely uprooted and dried out.
