OT ART

From: Dianne Dalla Santa <dalla@apollo.ruralnet.net.au>

While supposedly doing my Christmas shopping recently I found a wooden
gentlemans collar box with an iris flower and four leaves carved into the
lid in a local antique shop. The box stands 12 cm high and has a diameter
of 15cm. Attached to the inside of the container is a smaller container
with a lid in which the collar studs/pins were stored. Needless to say, I
purchased this little treasure for myself. Whether or not it has any real
collectors value it at least has added to my collection of iris oriented
"stuff".

All too often I am given things with irises that are a bit hard to
appreciate however for my recent 50th birthday I received a Seagull pewter
clock from the Seagull Iris Collection, a most appreciated addition to my
collection.

I also found beautiful linen tea towels with an iris motif to give as gifts
for fellow iris lovers. I found these in a gift shop in South Australia but
gave them all away. Silly me.

What a lovely irisey Christmas and New Year I've had! What about you?
