Gary White wrote inquiring about Leslie and Walter Jobe in Owensboro,
Kentucky.
I just heard a news report on the tornado from a Louisville reporter in
Owensboro. There were no fatalities and injuries suffered were minor, but
there was tremendous property damage. The storm has been classified as an F3
tornado, was moving at seventy miles per hour, and stayed on the ground for
seven miles. The utility company expects that it will be five to six days
before electricity will be restored; I am sure the phone lines are in bad
shape, too, so it will probably be some time before we hear from the Jobes.
If I can get in touch with them in the meantime I will post an update.
Judy Hunt in Louisville, Kentucky where we had no electricity for eighteen
hours or so due to power poles down, but our troubles are nil in comparison
to the folks in Owensboro.
