Dear Jan: I write about JANE PHILIPS. I was surprised to find it not in
the 10-yr. collections of 49-59 or of 59-69. Unless my memory is playing
tricks on me, this is an iris from the late Dr. G. Percy Brown, the
remontant hybridizer
of Barre, Massachusetts. It was a well-known blue among us remontant
growers, and had several offspring. Indeed, it was so well known that its
omission continues to surprise me. Lloyd Zurbrigg Durham S.C. This was an
early iris, probably about l955 for time of introduction. Some of the
Austin catalogues ought to have info in this, as well as Dr,Brown's own
list.
