AIS: Overseas Judges etc. (was AIS:Delayed Registrations/Introductions (awards)

From: Sandy Ives <rives@home.com>

Heather Pryor asked about the Oz judges.

(Didn't my last e-mail come out looking like a dog's breakfast! I won't try
again either.)

I was using the January '97 bulletin when I wrote this; there were five from Oz.

In the April '99 bulletin, we see the following:

John Baldwin (Active Master)
Barry Blyth (Garden)
Graeme Grovenor (Active Master)
Robert Raabe (Retired Master)
John Taylor (Garden)

In my earlier e-mail, there were four 'M' and one 'G' Oz judges. I counted
them as five. I would count four from this list.

Barry Blyth has been added and Leslie Donnell has been dropped. To the best of
my knowledge, you are dropped when you forget to vote the ballot two years
running (100%), die (100%), or fail to keep up with the education requirements
(five hours/3 years including one judge's training course). The education
requirements are sent in with the annual activity report (A, G, AM).

Overseas judges are appointed by the Board of Directors when it accepts the
annual report of the Chairman of Judges. The chairman's role is to endorse a
letter of nomination submitted by an AIS judge outlining the qualifications of
the individual. The letter of recommendation itself must be endorsed by a
minimum of three additional accredited AIS judges. Therefore, you need four AIS
judges who think you qualify for sainthood, one Chairman of Judges, and a quorum
of the Board of Directors in order to become an accredited AIS judge (overseas).

Regards,

Sandy Ives in Ottawa Canada (where it is raining dogs and cats. Large ones)
