<< Do many of you grow iris in pots?
And if so, which types? >>
I grow all of my Irises in some type of containers. The Louisianas, and
water loving species such as Iris tridentata, Iris pseudacorus, and Iris
virginica types have to be grown in some sort of manner that keeps the root
zone wet enough in times of drought. The soil here is sand, and that
explains that situation... These plants are in kiddie pools sunk into the
ground, that are then backfilled with a mix of sand and Canadian peat.
I am experimenting with one TB Iris and Iris unguicularis in pots. Some
of the Irids, such as Trimezia, Neomarica, Belemcanda, and Montbretia do fine
in the ground.
