Re: PHOTO JEANNE HOLLEY SEEDLING

From: Jeanne Holley <irisarian@yahoo.com>

Hi Chris:

The seedling is a TB, 32" tall, ML, 7-9 buds, three
way branching & a spur, petals are heavy substance,
ruffled and laced, parentage is: Ruffled Surprise X
Classic Edition. Here, after a day or so, the colors
soften to a buff/pink with lavender blue highlights
and the gold hafts and beard.

But color will vary somewhat from place to place,
which is one of the reasons I want to see it grown in
other areas. When I lived in Colorado all of my iris
were softer colors and many had a much more pronounced
silver sheen than they do here in southeast Missouri.
I attribute that to the very sweet soil in Colorado as
opposed to the very acid soil here. I actually liked
the colors better there, but nature dictates that,
right?

Also this is a 1994 seedling, so it should have
finished its metamorphosis
