Hi Anner,

Solarization should work in New Jersey.  It works for us.  We've prepared
new beds using this method usually beginning in late spring.  That way, our
new purchases get planted in August.

We've noticed that the weeds stay down for a number of years afterwards --
almost no weeds the next year and very few weeds the following year.
