An article in the Bulletin several years ago suggested using mushroom
compost to reseed (respore?)beneficial fungi (anyone remember who said,
"Fungi are fun."?). It was supposed to be a small amount--like
fertilizer, not a soil amendment. Just enough to tip the balance against
the baddies.

I read this shortly before the DC-based national (91?) where several
gardens solarized and then had horrible rot. It seemed to justify the
suggestion, until I heard of Rick and Roger's success. They, at least
don't need it.
