CULT: Use of manure

The manure goes into the bed when it is being prepared and is restricted to
the root zone.  NEVER used as a top dressing or just dug in.  The rhizomes
themselves never touch it, but you can sure see the growth spurt when roots
reach the richer layer of soil.
