Perhaps not quite the same as your suggestion. I recall that at
least one cultivar made the list in spite of a pronounced tendency
toward rotting. If my memory serves that would have been QUEEN
OF HEARTS, an intro by O. Brown and submitted by Mike Lowe in
spite of that tendency. A search of the archives should tell you
whether or not my memory is trustworthy or not in this case. Still,
that was one of the factors I enjoyed about the submissions on the
list I compiled. Irises may be loved by an irisarian in spite of some
extra trouble involved in specific cultivars. And that gives them added
interest, I think.
I couldn't contribute much toward a rot list, since it has occurred only
rarely here. Don't know why, really. Just hope it doesn't change as
the collection grows.
