SPEC: Herbertia lahue

From: Rodney Barton <rbarton@hscgw1.hsc.unt.edu>

Dennis,

H. lahue is a plant of the prairies and grasslands of E and SE Texas and Lousiana (also Mexico). That would mean full sun and plenty of moisture in the growing season. The Northern limit
of it's natural range is near the border between zones 7 and 8. I don't know if it's hardy above that. It's a "cool season" and showing foliage now. I've never gotten it to blooming size
even thought it's found in my county.
