AIS Bulletin (hubba, hubba)

From: Irisborer@aol.com

Hello Happy Iris Folks:

I have been extraordinarily busy lately - the reason I'm quieter than
usual... and I don't really have time to say much tonight - but I could not
let one more moment go by without saying....

WAIT TILL YOU SEE THIS EDITION OF THE AIS BULLETIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The cover girl is an iris after my own heart.... a peek into the brave new
world to be - a step into that joyful moment when an iris satisfies without
even blooming

Folks of River City - I'm talking VARIEGATED FOLIAGE!! And not just green
and white either - but purple based fans... sneaking up into the foliage
proper. (ZEBRA BLUSH, Kasperek '95) There are more examples inside such as
an Aitken, Tasko and Ensminger seedings with extraordinary variegations and a
named variety CANADIAN STREAKER (Chapman '97). There is a variegated setosa,
pseudacorus and laevigata and ensata - and lots of articles to back them up!

Trust me people..... I'm weak-kneed here.

And.... if you have any doubt that AIS is responsive to your hopes and dreams
- both the siberian iris and japanese iris popularity polls are carried in
this edition.

Sure there're reports and minutes too.... look them over (you just might
find them interesting)... but my heart is stolen by those wild stiped plants.

The bad news is that Terry Aitken will be stepping down as editor....

Kathy Guest who left for work at 7 am and just got home at 8:30 pm... and
it's not looking better in the near future - in E. Aurora, NY
