That article on Algerian Irises contains a reference to a white-seeded form
of Iris foetidissima. In all the books & articles I've read, this is quite
a mysterious and elusive plant. Most people have heard of it, but nobody
actually seems to have seen or grown it!
Well, much to my delight while browsing through the 1999 seed exchange list
on the NARGS web site, I saw a listing for Iris foetidissima "Fructu Albo".
Could this be it? I may never know. It was not offered again in this
year's NARGS list. Drat!
