When I said I considered everything between "the dwarfs" and the TB's
medians, I should have explained myself, I suppose. I guess I'm just used to
everyone being up on all the median classes and forget that there are those
out there who don't recognize or know anything outside of the TB's.
I am used to everyone calling the miniature dwarf bearded's (MDB's) the
Dwarfs. I am used to everyone calling the standard dwarf bearded's (SDB's)
SDB's or medians.
This is where I have always found the difficulty. Every Australian catalogue I have seen lists 'Dwarf' iris seperately from 'Medians'. There are very few MDB's available here from what I have seen. The Dwarf iris available for sale here are almost exclusively SDB's. Barry Blyth introduces a large number of SDB's so I am sure there is no confusion on his part, at least.
Barry Blyth's catalogue also lumps the Aril bred irises in with the medians. Border beardeds are usually (but not always) listed with the TB's.
Not being interested in showing, I don't know if this extends to show classes.
I have wondered if this is following the British system perhaps?
I think I have sorted it all out in my own head now!
Cheers, Jan Clark, Australia
