Coldest it's been here, in the sunny southeastern US, was 25oF below
zero, no snow cover. I wasn't stratifying seeds that winter <g>, but I
suspect your fridge won't get too cold. EXCEPT that most of the irises
you might be using as parents might not be quite as cold tolerant as
those grown in colder climates. I have no idea how that might affect
seeds.

Actually the seeds that I am most concerned about are the bearded species, which I received from BIS and SIGNA.
The icecream isn't rock hard, so it isn't as cold as in my chest freezer.
I seem to remember other people saying they throw their seeds in the freezer as soon as they receive (or harvest) them. Was Walter one of those people? Anyone else??
