Hi Ronald, Sue et al,

I have written to Ronald by private mail earlier today but I
think he is in the same climate as Sue (I am colder further up
in the mountains by about one zone or so). I did plant my last
iris in August this year..and have planted TBs (once) in Sept.
and lost all of them. This may be the difference between USDA
Zone 3 and 4/5. I think Laurie hit the nail squarely when she
said that a rhizome should/must (?) be in the ground about 6
weeks before the first frost (give or take :-).

Ronald is located just north of the Vermont border between St.
Albans and Newport, Vermont if my Canadian map served me
correctly. I was hoping that he would be nearer Sherbrook, P.Q.
(just north of me). Anyway, he is very, very near Phil Cook in
Underhill, Vermont. Phil is primarily a beardless iris grower
plus he has a large collection of daylilies, etc. Ronald is also
not too distanct from Montreal and the iris growers and
hybridizers there - Tony Huber, etc.

Happy New Year,

Ellen
