Clarke Cosgrove Memorial Award for Youth Achievement


Hurry, hurry, deadline is January 31, 2003.

Jean Morris, AIS Youth Chair advises that not many nominations have been 
received for the annual Clarke Cosgrove Memorial Award for Youth Achievement 
and the deadline is near! 

Any AIS member can nominate any AIS Youth Member. Those youths who 
participate in some (not necessarily all) of the catagories should be 
considered for nomination.Use the following letter format as a guide (or see 
AIS Bulletin, October 02, page 14), add some personal comments about the 
Youth and e-mail (not by attachment) or snail mail to Jean Morris, 
morrisje1@aol.com, 682 Huntley Heights Drive, Ballwin, MO 63021.

The American Iris Society and its local affiliates needs to encourage its 
Youth Members by providing the encouragement and recognition this Award 
entails. Take a minute and send your nomination today for any or all the 
active Iris Youth you know.BEFORE 1-31-

* Visits local gardens
* Attends regional/national conventions
* Is studying to become an AIS judge
* Promoted irises and/or the AIS to others
* Signed up new AIS members
* Competes enthusiastically in shows
* Involved in scientific experiments with irises
* Is interested in various irises classes
* Shows leadership
