OT Ronald Leger

General Iris group -- IF you get it! I have a new DeskTOp (Medion, or
something like that, never heard of it before) and I haven't figured out how
to put my Address Book from my Laptop to the DeskTop --- I read Ronald's
letter on that, and couldn't send it to Iris Talk -- AND I am not sure which

one to use because I don 't do that very often! --Oh, well, we can't all be
nerds, or whatever the term is for experienced PCers!
 But.
Welcome and Happy, Healthy New Year, Ronald! Pay attention to Dorothy
Willot's email of advice. She gave you some VERY good tips! Chuck Chapman
is the one vendor I know --- and admire his irises which are unexcelled --

besides having some of them in my own garden, I saw a number of them blooming

in England during their British Iris Society meetings in Bristol - which I
was lucky enough to attend. He is also a good speaker, if anyone is looking

for someone for their meetings. we were fortunate to have him speak at our
Region 4 (Francis Scott Key Chapter) meeting in Frederick, MAryland,USA.
this past Fall. He hybridizes as well as sell irises and has a great
catalog. So his irises probably would be happy in your area.
He also has rebloomers up there in Canada! Try them too -- and don't pass
over the little ones (Standard Dwarfs) They give an early pleasure. Try
them, you'll like 'em !
AND -- DON"T buy from Garden Shops! I don't care who tells you that! They
charge triple what you can get from Iris people for irises that are old, and
may not be correctly labeled! Not that I am not interested in antique irises

- I have some - but I want those from people who know what they are -- there
are those who specialize in each type. My "specialty" are rebloomers -
however I do not sell them - just devote most of my garden to them, but
still growing all types, just to keep my "hand" in!
At 66, you have a long time to enjoy irises! You are the age of my oldest(!)

so start looking at catalogs, our "wish books" as soon as they come out!
