Thanks a lot Ellen, concerning "The Siberian Iris" and Sibrob.

In November - December we had cold weather (minus 15-20 by C)
practically without snow. What is more there were more than enough
rains here in the fall. Later, in December - January we had minus
25-30 C during several days but there was enough snow already then.
There weren't thaws this winter yet but usually they are. We should
maybe give some protection to irises for the winter here but I
never do it and that's why every year I should be ready to lose more
or less varieties.
Yes, I also try to plant my irises in July. Our summer, I think, is
hotter than your area one. In my opinion, TBs planting till about 15
of August is O. K. in Moscow. Best time for SIBs planting is
probably second half of August.
I didn't specially make a cold-hardy TBs list but remember that
FOREIGN STATESMAN and DELTAPLANE should be there.
JURASSIC PARK and MISS BUTTERWORTH also grow
very well here.
Among different foreign iris societies I'm a member only of The AIS
and The TBIS.

Kind Regards,

Sergey
