Re: Re: CULT: Winter harrumphs & crocus!

Hi,

Haven't seen any Crocus yet this year in central NM, but there may be some
(they often start about now, and the foliage is well developed on some).
The Winter Jasmine is flowering now though, started before Christmas, and
is blooming in full golden glory now (usually flowers in February). Most
of the Iris in my yard are putting out new leaves now, I'm not sure if
that's good or bad. Last year was a cold winter (not record breaking), but
just as everything was getting going, we had our coldest night by far (7 F
in my yard) on the first weekend in March - that hurt. That was actually
by far the coldest night I've had at my latest yard since we bought the
property in 1998! Hope we're not getting set up for worse this year. I'm
looking forward to a nice early crop of Iris flowers (seems I get more
impatient for spring every year). I did have a nice rebloom on some old
IB's up into November, but that was too long ago!

Dave
