And I agree with Laurie and Maureen with planting the bearded by
Aug. 1st if possible. However, contrary to commonly held
iris-wisdom, I have found that beardless do much better if
planted in July rather than Aug. or Sept. We are apt to gain a
year earlier bloom with both bearded and beardless that way.
Ellen - colder than the past 15 days here. The wind-chill is
horrid....mittened/gloved fingers start to hurt in a few minutes
rushing from building to car - too cold to take the dogs for a
walk and no one is on the street...eerie.
